Birds of a feather flock together

Time for a story about to begin,
Demanding characters to go for hugging.
A vowel invited to a friendly ensemble –
Three kindergarten buddies & a lovely couple.

Beginning was blank and delayed,
As the trumpets blew, syllables made.
Nothing kept down enchanted drifting,
New words spun, right out gyrating.

Familiarity knotted words together -
Vernacular, food, music, places and weather.
Conventions thwarted by characters’ camaraderie,
Sentences sewed by their new friendship’s foundry.

As the planets continued moving in their paths,
The characters stumbled across publishers’ wraths.
Wrath being stupid and deceptive in nature,
The group resolved against any flexure.

Time came for partly good-byes,
The vowel accompanied buddies with childhood ties.
Together they roamed another blank slate,
Dawdling through the night, around late.

The instant connects, and those deep stories;
The whole time spent, including casual pot-pourris.
True it is, and not a blabber -
Birds of a feather flock together.

PS: In case you guys are wondering about the vowels and characters above, let me quell that confusion - it is to do with the first letters from names of people, who are represented above.

In the World of Thoughts

Jumping, bubbling and growing sort;
Springs this thing which we call a thought.
At times light, otherwise heavy;
Sometimes a nerd, sometimes savvy.

Flashing for seconds to living for a lifetime;
Thoughts behind every act - charity or crime.
Seeping, creeping and flooding sort;
Flows this thing which we call a thought.

Surreal at times, a thought wonders the sky;
And when closer to reality, puffs the desire dry.
Flying, tripping and crashing sort;
Moves this thing which we call a thought.

Passion in mind, and a thought is born;
Even does it die, as a thinking mind is worn.
Rising, sinking and floating sort;
Tenures this thing which we call a thought.

A thought's expression is choked in a jailed mind,
With a brave soul, though, its horizon is difficult to find.
Cowing, braving and unleashing sort;
Expresses this thing which we call a thought.

An observing eye with a magnifying lens,
An exploring ship without directions' sense.
Adventurous, oceanic and wandering sort;
Appears this thing which we call a thought.

Many a name, many a form;
A thought perambulates without a home.
As a thought travels from its dawn to twilight,
Joy or sorrow - products of this psychic diet.

Rhythmic Colt-To-Horse

A wild colt, when growing up;
Alien to reins, saddle and stirrup.
Trot-Canter-Galloping in freedom,
The colt catches its natural rhythm.

As the colt grows further,
A city fair camps as a neighbour.
The fair had a fairy-tale doll,
Amazed colt asked her for a ball.

The shy doll feared her master,
Courage - she couldn't muster.
Rejected the colt's invitation,
The colt sank in utter dejection.

The fair stayed for two days,
Full of shows, songs and plays.
In background, colt sulked and longed;
The fair was leaving - finally, it gonged.

Days passed, alongside each night,
The colt grew taller and in might.
Trot-Canter-Galloping in freedom,
The colt enters into a horse' rhythm.

While trotting lazily and grazing grass,
The horse, one day, saw a big animal pass.
It carried many animals within,
Instead of heart, driven by an engine.

The horse leaped at the bus,
Which already was in a rush.
The bus sped past galloping horse,
Horse was no match to its machinery force.

Then, some more seasons went by;
With them, came and left many a passerby.
Trot-Canter-Galloping in freedom,
The horse feels world's apathetic rhythm.

So goes the story of this colt-to-horse,
To get a true friend, enrolls into a course.
Riders climbed on the horse' back,
And the horse was to run on track.

The horse finds companions it can value,
Many rode, but special bond developed with few.
Now, trot-canter-galloping in half-freedom;
The horse realizes the reality's rhythm.

Till the hold not let loose

Deep in the thick forest of mind's thoughts,
Harbors a creature, meshed in sordid knots.
To some, it imparts anxiety and for others, pain;
And yet are some who derive enormous gain.

Around a face, it forms a veil of scandal;
Crept along a name and personifies a vandal.
Shadows the time to chronicle a holocaust,
Infiltrates the minds and kindness is lost.

Lighted roads embark into a dark course,
Sighted joy turns into an afflicting remorse.
Rooted faith turns volatile as and when,
A Controversy edges through the mental terrain.

Though devious, many a souls are inspired;
A parasite for whom the host has aspired.
Euphoric at the start, one is so propelled;
As a ship, before hitting iceberg, has sailed.

Warmed skin, but the heart freezes in despair;
Protective layer, yet numbed by frost in air.
Visible shore, but storm has its tentacles on;
Paradox is the fiber that all Controversies don.

Seeded and nurtured in a discerning  mind,
Against the precedence, do the senses bind.
Locks the tantalizing shackles of a Controversy,
Destiny meets an enemy with no mercy.

Situation, conversation, feeling or perception;
A Controversy has abound places of inception.
Reins of determination or deprivation - no use,
Till the hold, on Controversial rope, not let loose.

Thou shalt know thy Intent

It goes without saying, as some would say;
Said in some whim, intent - just the other way.
And thus hidden truth, when spoke the speaker;
As a road, in a misty day, from goal-seeking trucker.

Spoken and action - distant by time and intent,
Often, intent puncturing the actionable potent.
By intent, yet, action meets the desirable end;
Time, as a miracle, be not fiddled to comprehend.

Draft among the letters, giving way to the written truth.
Graft in the system, and born is the corrupt sleuth;
Chaff in the lung, would result into rotten breathe;
Craft in creator, as heaven boasts the beauties underneath.

Locked in the chest, effusing into realities;
Enablers doing so, are known by abilities.
Shape or drape - the potential varies,
Lofted or grounded  impression, as one carries.

Pinned intent often robs off life's charm,
As wasting fertility, without labor, of a farm.
But farms offer rotten crops, and when offered;
Accepting intension, early or late, in time has suffered.

Intent leads action and is led by thoughts,
Uncontrolled as they may and be numbered in lots.
If desired intent seeks stillness in its resolve,
Intent's nemesis, howsoever strong, will dissolve.

Noble Love

Sprinkled with passion, my minutes spent with you;
Within me, some mysterious joy gets pumped through.
Invisible, though, love wrinkles in your eyes;
But for me, priceless are those windows - in whatever shape and size.

Swell my heart, your loveless eyes with my tears;
Seeing life in same eyes, effects reverse emotional gears.
Zoomed my sight, those windows, with utopian flavor;
Wiping, all, senses of a union happening never.

Days, as pass, while you are absent;
My senses, working hard, bring past to present.
Natural forces defied, as an imaginary grip hardens;
Notwithstanding, on heart, nostalgia burdens.

Such immortal wounds, my priceless keepsake;
The selfless love, no force can shake.
Dwarf numerous inhumane societal acts,
Scandalous promises and conniving pacts.

Mixed Emotions

Life, my biggest puzzle and gift;

Jailed, hitched and sometimes in proverbial drift.

Time flies and so do its dependents,

Still I remain in the cusp of emotional dents.

Feeling is like pottery in progress,

When shaped by perception, heading for a mess.

Dancing attuned to this friend-cum-foe,

I march in my highs and lows.

Feminine at its best

Those drops of love on the lips,
A woman, hurt, and my heart rips.
Gate to heaven, they are;
Touched, felt peace, at middle of war.
Red, color it wears most;
Careful, while eating a hot toast.
Among all assets you possess;
They are 2nd to eyes, swear Jesus and Moses.

A sleeping beauty, I saw and adored;
I couldn't agree more, pleasing sculpture by lord.
Lashes on eyelids, resemble feathers on wings;
Wings taking bearer to horizon of dreamy things.
No streak, no frown - delight to one's vision;
Artistic hands and serene nature in liaison.

Retrospection

Late one day, while lazily picking my conscience;
Saw the holes, leaking my heart.
Wondered in utter shock and disbelief –
Why things never been clearer before?

Much before, in a mystic tide’s shelter;
Had luncheons with ghosts of insidious proportion.
Vacillating tomorrows dangling in fore,
Incapacitated soul, incapacitated soul!

Vast sea, broken sail, jammed brain;
Pilferage of air from living system.
Infuriated and livid on self – till the last ditch,
Prayers of hope suppressed by wails and whines.

Out of the blue, arrived the much-awaited;
Unveiled the cracks & holes of the meted fury.
And this is how it all seemed like,
When late one day, while lazily picking my conscience.

Bled and Dead Innocence

Buried in the sands of times,
Civilisations' scot-free crimes.
Surreal societal codes of conduct,
Innocence trapped in their nefarious induct.

Originality and innocence - slewed by Darwin's theory,
Beasts and demons raised in the name of bravery.
Layers of crimes thus lay through ages,
Whenever man tried learning selfish phrases.

In the shallow alleys of emotional theatre,
Deeply motivated lies punch veil craters.
Only shadows remain - last traces of purity,
With lights around even they lose longevity.

Rebel my heart, don't sink today;
Rebel my pulse, don't you fray.
Rebel my limbs, support my courage;
O! Rebellion, offered thou my dead soul to graze.

Stood once high, I invincibly convinced;
My perch however short-lived and demeanour cringed.
Necessities became dreams fading into horizon,
The tunnel end dragged deeper into oblivion.

Efforts failed as destitute leaves in spring,
Their sincerity marred by situational surrounding.
No martyr's glory but lonesome alley,
Vouched, as if, fortune to prevent my gully.

But rebel you are and will resurrect back,
Transcend with might from this marshy track.
Gorge on it, may my soul phoenicize your strength;
Abundant innocence, suckle from its breadth & length.

Slated, if innocence, such untimely death;
Harbours, every soul, if a monster beneath.
Life - you answered every puzzle,
Parched, I long you, rather forlorn hope of drizzle.

Make your move, the milieu would follow...

Freedom is my country’s biggest asset,
The belongingness to it - prime reason for us to elate.
United, we take the pledge to protect our union;
I believe we are strong – for every enemy we would be a million.
Let’s remember our motherland, all her elements;
Let’s unite our feelings, all our sentiments.
Let’s transcend the barriers of differences existing inside us,
Let’s make this determination as strong as shoulders of Hercules.
And let’s have some action in place and not mere words,
Get inspired from our freedom fighters, how against might they crossed swords.
It’s high time – adrenaline is flowing,
Let’s do something which keeps motherland’s pride glowing.
Every countryman is invited in the synergic effort of nation’s true independence,
Come, believe and agonize yourself to see it happening in front of your eye lens.

My Initial Experience at my B-School

Came I here to the great institute,
Hidden were the surprises as they were mute.
New ones around were getting crucified,
Sleep was luxurious and no more a free ride.

Impression of smart work was shown good enough,
Success was made as a function of bluff.
Crying is the soul of book and pen,
Carrying the laptop now looks sane.

Life but principles was patronized high time,
Piercing through high sea was matter of prime.
Good things are due to come soon,
Prosperity is blessed after every ruin.

However, good things are also there;
But tendency for ghastly, rather nice, things to share.
Hence I started focussing on better things,
First one was when a boring class' bell rings.

Fast and first - drummed around,
This is an adult world which I had found.
No where aloofness was showered with clemency,
Always, teamwork doesn't become synergized agency.

Economics, Statistics, Law and Accounting;
On us, their pressure, was steadily mounting.
Overlooked was risking the dignity,
And this made me to taste life's salinity.

And I learnt - life hinges on these sharp things,
May not be true for all human beings.
My courage was beaming from deep inside,
Whatever happens - don't strand your own side.

With that notion, I looked for opportunities;
Let’s exercise and bring ourselves some utilities.
This kaleidoscopic life has lot to give,
To obtain that, courage is the thing to conceive.

Turmoiled Conscience

Turmoil! Turmoil! Turmoil!
Bringing heartburns & skin-boil.
Languishing markets and economies,
Revealing unscrupulous anatomies.

Affecting mechanism of households,
Dwindling money power manifolds.
Surfacing surprises - uglier to the hilt,
Forcing carefree generosity to sense guilt.

Twisting strategies, effecting bailouts;
Core untouched, caressing silhouettes.
Gyrating domino effect all around,
Cries, groans and echoes of eerie sounds.

Turmoil - nothing but an eternal phenomenon,
Our ignorant greed - its creed, its religion.
This will remain just another poetic narration,
If it not inspires our hideous evil's suppression.

The beginning of day

Petals blossom as the day is born,
Dewdrops shed from twigs, flowers and thorns.
The new born diffuses rejuvenation all around,
Mother Nature is prettier – from sky till ground.
Mist of hopes spread, as do the longer rays, all over;
Amazing is god’s art when for sketching he uses clover.
The baby whimpers with the birds’ and insects’ chirp,
Chilled is the aura as flora swings without a slurp.
Somewhere, in the blues, crescent of moon is dwindling;
Layers of vegetation snake through the fresh wind.

My visit to Nainital

My time was opportune as I set off for this place,
Place, which matches a utopia by the heaven’s grace.
Goddess’ lake, as the name suggests - Nainital;
And the sanctity is guarded by the sky touching natural wall.
This valley calls every stranger as does a mother,
I felt this on my approaching way with friends together.

Welcomed, I nested in a place, binocular in nature;
Peeping the valley’s beauty from here was its best feature.
Shopkeepers, of all types, were crooning everywhere;
Essential needs of a human, they fulfil, I swear.
Every corner of the valley, I gazed when rode over the lake;
And beauty is at its perfect efficiency for new onlooker’s sake.

Planning my left day from the boat was an easy thing,
I needed to see that the plan was my budget fitting.
The cold winds from the lake gave a reason to shiver,
My organs were freezing – from skin to as inside as liver.
Caffeine and hot drinks were sought after that ride,
Fantasised the soothed me that the drink was to provide.

The time which followed was flying fast,
Visiting devi after her endeavour’s day was our day’s last.
And she was all beaming in her glorious triumph,
Devotees around were praying, tones going up and then slump.
And the wind backed us as we walked to our nest up,
A sleep between us and next adventure was there to interrupt.

Chirped the morning as we set out once more,
To savour and enjoy the rest part of the tour.
Crept the flying basket on the rope as we watched from inside,
In publicised terms they call it as the “Ropeway Ride”.
Mother Nature caresses with her gentle cold hands every time,
Her blessings for the place are adorable to the levels of sublime.

Securing myself well from top to feet,
Set myself on horse to the peak of Dorothy’s seat.
Magnanimous was the view of town at this altitude,
The cold wind was however very rude.
And with the day descending, we ditto from the mountains;
As another adventure of that place added to the memory of our brains.

Abundance of beauty, creator must have when Nainital’s blueprint on his mind;
As the place creates a charming effect on the visitor as he leaves it behind.
Whenever Nainital comes as my mental picture,
Awaken are the memories of a place in lustre.
And awakens my desire to be in that place again,
Either physically or soaked in my dreaming lanes.

Connections in the Universe

Success is like a bird - when it flies high it is prone (only) to be shot down. Failure is like a mountain - higher the altitude more are the chances to touch the sky. Women are like dreams - always leave us in a state of desire. Men are like jewellery - always like to gather attraction. Children are like god - how much they listen to you is reflected by how much you listen to them. Lectures are like ocean depths - more is their lengths deadlier is their effect on human beings. The loneliness of an introvert's soul and a mother's love for her child - the depth of both is unfathomable. Passion is like the soul - life without both is a dead one.

A soul's despair

I am a free soul, let me respire;
Don't be jealous of my growth and let me aspire.
I am a good soul, let me inspire;
On all the blasphemy existing, let’s call a ceasefire.
I am a brave soul, ready to jump into the fire;
For the sake of others, let’s learn to perspire.

Run, exhaust and dream on your own;
Don’t resist the calmness when you are thrown.
Thrown in the dark alleys of maturity,
In herds, not always but lost is the serenity.
Still a life is not complete in aloofness,
This soul desires for affinity with uncompromised grace.

Burns the fire as if it has no dear neighbour,
Its soul is more energetic than lovers’ in labour.
Pains of hardship are always greater than courtship,
Perhaps the free soul is not available to become a creep.
Toiled soul seeks the bloomed valley,
And doesn’t want to get shackled in a sophisticated alley.

Wonders the soul in his moments of respite,
One life goes by, gradually evading in the night.
Existing things flow away as ashes in air,
Life, relations, countries - everything and everywhere.
And soon things vanish from the layers of memoir,
Nothing remains there to settle and nothing to repair.

This soul is free from the rich and the destitute,
Free it is from the life - which is a hidden brute.
Yet the soul enacts everytime on this earth,
As a pedestrian, on a chilled night, looking for a hearth.
In each form, it is destined for the ultimate goal;
The question thus remains - "Soul, why you become uneasy in this earthly role?"

The Fighting Spirit

And then I fell in that fathomless pit,
To be honest I was young and fit.
Darkness was finding its way inside,
My pulse was struggling in its regular ride.
Eyes were tired, mouth was dried;
Having the pills my skin cried.

Blood inside me was deprived of force,
Force to cut through the valleys of its regular course.
The virus soldiers were merciless at my biological cells,
It seemed no one would live to tell the horror tales.
My senses were kidnapped as I lost their control,
And my strength was challenged from skin to my soul.

My body went musicless as my tired cells,
Desire to see my dear ones resonated as a temple's bells.
And the weight of hell was tearing me like pork,
Demons were eating me all with their knife & fork.
Perish me, O! God, with your speed;
And let me become a soul which is freed.

Words became whispers and hence gaspings,
Death and life seemed to me not separate but siblings.
Seeing them together I asked my soul-
Is this the end of my earthly role?
Heavily medicated, I rested my backbone;
May be another one or is this the last day known?

And years later when I remember that time,
Thank god to help me during my weakened rhyme.
And congratulate myself to have a fighting spirit,
That steers me out safely of every difficult heat.
Let us be strong from inside and let us nurture that thing,
It is your only way out of any suffering.

The Angel I Met Once

Seeing the girl, I was charmed;
Her electrifying personna had my heart rammed.
O! I wish I don't get departed from her,
For eternity, love to become this angel's admirer.

But she is like that wet surface,
When goes - doesn't leave a trace.
And I become the victim of this mirage,
Drowned in her thoughts passed my days.

And when I reeled heavily for her,
I fall asleep and become again an observer.
She calms down my nerves in my virtuality,
No tranquiliser can do so in the reality.

Wind was gushing in and out,
Her memory was around me as a silhouette.
Her materialization fluctuated in fore,
And my pain has its own beauty to adore.

My pain is so subtler than hers,
Cancer was all over her blood layers.
Each passing moment – she gasped to survive,
What could be more horrendous for a child of age five?

She finally responded to her caller,
Her pain relieved and mine got taller.
O! Angel may your soul rest in peace forever;
And my child – your father could forget his angel never.

A Nation's great son

Every country produces it sons,
Expecting each of them to be responsible and patriotic in the long run.
Every motherland is like an asset too close to heart,
Its safety is at the top of its soldier's chart.
These people are not carrying any ordinary thought,
They prioritise their country and then their life in each war they have fought.

A soldier maintains discipline throughout his life,
It helps him in walking on a path which is sharp like a knife.
He distances his family when he prepares for the battle,
Thinking in mind that this is the last one to settle.
And the battlefield challenges his bravery everytime,
His blood is spit in the war as it costs nothing but a dime.

He hates but cuts every opponent's pulse,
Around him cloud of wrath engulfs.
Sometimes he is victorious and sometimes nailed,
Dying for the country's sake is a duty where he never failed.
He sings songs of glory when he is down with courage,
That is how he seeks power from that glorified mirage.

For all these great deeds of a soldier,
For inspiring the entire nation to be fearless and become bolder,
Are his acts of chauvinism properly regarded?
Is the fallen hero's carriage sufficiently barded?
His family may remain in despair forever,
That too for his sacrificing and heroic endeavour.

Still the land would be proud mother of such sons,
In this age of hatred, swords and guns.
And the soldier's soul will always be content,
To live and die for the nation's past, future and present.
Lets swallow this truth and lets not forget this great son,
He who for us refused to have a dream of his own.
